Which kitchen layout is best for a Bangladeshi apartment?
For most Chittagong apartments, L-shape and parallel (galley) layouts maximize space efficiency. L-shape works particularly well for 150-200 sq ft kitchens by using corner space and freeing up the rest of the room. U-shape suits larger kitchens (200+ sq ft) with multiple cooks. How long does it take to install a modular kitchen?
From design approval to handover, a typical modular kitchen takes 4 to 6 weeks. The on-site installation itself takes 7 to 14 days. The remaining time is spent on factory fabrication of cabinets, material sourcing, and site preparation (civil, plumbing, electrical rough-in). Larger or fully custom kitchens may extend to 8 weeks.
What materials do you use for kitchen cabinets?
We use premium BWP (boiling waterproof) plywood as our standard cabinet carcass, with options for marine-grade ply or HDHMR boards for higher tiers. Finishes include laminate (Merino, Greenlam), PU paint (Asian Paints, Berger), acrylic high-gloss, and membrane. Cabinetry is engineered for humidity resistance — critical in Chittagong’s coastal climate where standard MDF or particle board would swell and fail within 2-3 years.
Do you handle plumbing, electrical and appliance integration?
Yes. Our design-build approach covers complete kitchen plumbing (sink, dishwasher line, water purifier, drainage), electrical (dedicated circuits, GFCI outlets, lighting), exhaust ventilation, and integration of hobs, ovens, chimneys, refrigerators, and dishwashers. All handled by our in-house licensed team — you don’t need to coordinate with separate contractors.
Can you renovate my existing kitchen, or do you only do new builds?
Both. We handle full renovations of existing kitchens — including demolition of old cabinetry, rewiring, replumbing, and tile/floor work — and new construction kitchens for homes under construction. We also partner with developers on multi-unit residential projects across Chittagong.
What warranty do you offer on kitchens?
PlanBuild offers a 5-year workmanship warranty on cabinet installation, joinery, and structural work. Hardware (Hafele, Blum, Hettich) carries manufacturer warranties of 5-10 years. Countertops and appliances have their own brand warranties. Our Luxury tier includes an extended 7-year workmanship warranty. We’re also available for service support throughout the warranty period.
Can I supply my own appliances?
Yes. You can either supply your own appliances (we’ll design the kitchen around their exact dimensions) or we’ll source them through our partner channels at competitive pricing. Either way, our team handles fitting, integration, and electrical/gas connections. Just share the appliance specs early so we design the cabinetry to fit perfectly.
